Moku o Loʻe (coconut island)
Your board of directors has arranged for an “escape” to the island of Moku o Lo`e – also known as “Coconut Island”
The purpose for this event is to bring our members together for fun and fellowship, bring in new members, and to encourage inactive members to renew their membership with our club. On Friday night, we will enjoy a potluck BBQ dinner, kanikapila and fun/fellowship/kickback time.
On Saturday, we will enjoy a tour of the island and spend time having cultural enrichment – sharing mo`olelo, discussion future civic club activities, doing crafts – and spend the evening once again with kanikapila.
ONLY MEMBERS WHO HAVE PAID THEIR DUES ARE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE. Please contact Laurie Chun, membership chair, if you need to get your dues to her in time. lchun99@aol.com
Participants should plan on bringing your own food supplies, depending upon how many meals you plan to eat there – the island doesn’t have food service. We will have use of the beach house with a kitchen (stove, fridge, BBQ, sink) and restroom.
If you plan on staying over, you HAVE to make reservations with Mahealani no later than Tuesday, July 2nd, at the civic club meeting; or via email: malamapono744@aol.com.
